Homeschooling Teens Summer is Coming! Time to Work!

Tags

I was doing a Bible Study on Work. I remembered all those summers with my homeschool high school boys. It's so important to teach a strong work ethic! Perhaps it's a good time to take a moment with your teens and reflect on these verses. These could be great for memory work and discussion topics before summer.
God created man to work (Genesis 2:15).
The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
God works (John 5:17) and we are created in His image.
Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working."
Are guinea pigs nocturnal? If you're thinking about getting these lovable, cuddly critters as pets for your family, tha during the night.
Many would-be pet owners wonder whether these small animals are nocturnal or just shy? The animals are naturally sht's an important consideration. After all, you wouldn't want to get up in the middle of the night to feed your pet, or want to be woken up by loud, rambunctious critters at 3am. Knowing about an animal's behavior before getting one is a sign of a responsible pet owner, and makes life easier for both the pet and owner.
Contrary to what many people believe, guinea pigs are NOT nocturnal animals. They are diurnal, meaning that they are more active during the day. They may occasionally take a nap during daylight hours, some more than others, but in general they are more active when the sun's out. They can be somewhat active at night, but it mainly depends on the age, gender, breed and personality of the particular pig.
If you get baby pigs, you may hear them at night shuffling around in their cage, wheeking, and eating and drinking, but as they mature, they become less and less active during the night. This nighttime activeness may also be seen in an adult that has recently been 'relocated;' the new environment takes some getting used to, and as soon as it adjusts to its new life, it will become less activey, and if they spend most of their time hiding away in their shelters, it means they are nervous or scared. They are not really sleeping, but just avoiding human interaction. With time, as you bond with your pet, it will become more comfortable around people and venture out during the day. That being said, there are many pet owners who v

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.
ouch that their guinea pigs are more active at night.
Are guinea pigs nocturnal if they are so active after nightfall? While nighttime activeness is not unheard of, it does not make them nocturnal creatures. Some pigs may wheek on and off during the night--the loud, high-pitched sounds being interspersed with bouts of sleep, but in general, they rest at night just like us. So if you're worried about getting woken up by loud sounds at night, don't be. As soon as they adjust to the new environment, they will sleep the night away.
So, are guinea pigs good pets? Guinea pigs are easy to take care of, and can be the ideal first pet for a child. They eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, and will remain healthy if taken care of properly.
Work is hard (Genesis 3:19).

Work is a key to a full life (Proverbs 13:4).
A sluggaa model for you to imitate. 10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat." 11 We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. Trd's appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
We are also given warnings and examples (2 Thessalonians 3.6-15).
6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching[a] you received from us. 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, 8 nor did we eat anyone's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. 9 We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as hey are not busy; they are busybodies. 12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. 13 And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good. 14 Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed. 15 Yet do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow believer.
Set clear expectations for work during the summer months. What are your expectations and requirements?
